Waitangi Day sailing 2024

The Omokoroa Boat Club’s Waitangi Day Sailing Competition in 2024 was a vibrant celebration of maritime skill, community spirit, and cultural significance. Held annually to commemorate the signing of New Zealand’s founding document, the Treaty of Waitangi, the event brought together sailors to compete in a series of thrilling races amidst the picturesque backdrop of Omokoroa Peninsula.

As the sun rose over the tranquil waters of Tauranga Harbour on  Sunday, February 4th, anticipating the Waitangi Day Holiday, filled the air as sailors prepared their vessels and spectators gathered along the shoreline.

The Omokoroa Boat Club, nestled in the heart of the coastal community, buzzed with excitement as competitors geared up for a day of friendly competition and camaraderie.
